The Tory election machine seems to be in full force again and they seem to be perusing that strategy that worded so well for them in the past. I hate those punchy three/four word slogans that appeal to the dim part of the electorate. I find myself having to avoid the TV because the following are already grating:

- Labour has no plan
- Back to square one
- etc

They must think we're mugs. Everyone sees through it. And speaking as a reasonably affluent business owner, why anyone would ever consider voting Tory beats me. Unprecedented national debt, crumbling schools, NHS on its knees, vanishing local services, sewage in our sea and rivers, shambolic train system, tens of billions lost to corruption during Covid, that Truss budget. They've palpably made things worse over the past 14 years - and then lie about it.

Personally I would love to go back to square one.

What about Labour's stale "too little- too late".

I’m naturally a Conservative. I believe in the free market, marriage, fiscal prudence etc. but I’d never vote for this bunch of idiots.

I cannot vote for either Conservative or labour.

Ive never voted conservative and while Starmer is involved i cannot vote for labour - i would if David Milliband was around.

I still vote for the greens.

Same here.

Being naturally proper socialist, neither Starmer nor David Miliband would inspire me or give me any confidence that the ever increasing inequality caused by the free market and corruption will be tackled.

Hung parliament and coalition would be the least unacceptable alternative IMO. It would at least limit the excesses and homework would be marked so abominations like the Michelle Mone affair should not happen.

So, if you were in London and needed to get to Manchester, but the trains were fucked, and you had two options, get a train to Sheffield and work out how to get to Manchester from there - or take a train the wrong way down to Brighton, you're choice would be to get on a train to Brighton??
