Oxford United (a): Score Predictions & Starting XI

Bishop missing our two most important games of the season has, in my opinion, lost him the chance of the club offering him a new contract. As they did with Walsh, the club will want to bring in someone more reliable as regards fitness.
League matches played in last 4 seasons

Ted Bishop 36, 36, 24 , 33 = 129

Adam Jackson 28, 25, 29, 31 = 113

Ethan Hamilton 2, 41, 33, 30 = 106

TJ Eyoma. 39, 23, 25, 24 = 111

Joe Walsh 24, 21, 12, 11 = 68 (upto 22/23)

Out of interest, do you know how many of those games Bishop played 90 minutes?
He's a good player but the general perception (mine too) is that he is made of glass and rice paper. If we offer him a deal I hope it's on reduced terms.

No and it won't be lots. We used to take him off regularly after 70 minutes because we weren't going to have the ball much, so someone who could run around a bit faster was a better option as he tired....but he has played 90 minutes regularly recently.

Something Hamilton and McGrandles haven't...and they aren't made of glass and rice.

If he were your average player it might matter...

...but whistle down the pit and Max Sanders or Alex Woodyard or Ali Smith might pop up but a player of Bishops talent won't.

I would be doing everything to offer him an improved contract, he won't have a problem finding someone else who will.
