I believe he was manager at Holland & Blair and/or Cray Wanderers before going to Chatham. Ashford looks a tough gig: new owners coming in probably with big expectations.

He was assistant manager at H & B, then manager at Cray Wanderers for a short while before he got the sack, but he blamed a big injury crisis for his failure there. He's recently been assistant manager at Chatham Town. He lives 6 doors away from me I so often have a chat with him to get the latest.

Finished 11th in the Isthmian South East (tier 8), one below Chatham and in with Ramsgate, Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Herne Bay among others.

He was fantastic for us, oh to have someone with his character last season.

Agree with SE_Gills, cannot think of anything bad to say about him. Played his heart out for us and was a big part of our promotion season. He was/is Gills through and through and that helped cement his place in the Gills legends list.
